Antonio Broccoli Porto

Antonio Broccoli Porto originally from New York City. Lives and maintains his studio, "Art Studio Porto", in Old San Juan. He graduated with a B.A. in Arts from Iona College, New Rochelle, NY.,also studied latin percusion at Harbor Conservatory for 2 years in "el Barrio" of Manhattan. He continued his art studies in Europe at the Accademia di Belle Arti, (Pinacoteca di Brera),in Milan, Italy and furthered his studies home at Escuela de Artes Plasticas,in Old San Juan. Some of his notable professors include, Prof. Eric Lluch (apprentice to Andy Worhol); Master Sculptor, José Garcia Campos and studies with reknown watercolorist-writer Judy Betts. Mr Broccoli Porto is an active member of Asociación de Acuarelistas de Puerto Rico (Association of Watercolorists of Puerto Rico) and PAAP UNESCO.

Mr. Broccoli Porto was commissioned by Director Juan Carlos Morales for the Caribbean Version set and costume design for Midsummer's Night Dream by William Shakespeare, presented in Spanish at Bellas Artes de Guaynabo, in June of 99.
Mr Broccoli Porto's style has been described by the critics as lush in his use of colors and shapes, his works possessing a feeling of decadence...nature in all its beauty gone wild and uncontrolled.(San Juan Star)
In February, 2000, Antonio's work was featured at Gallery BAI, a private Gallery in The Guggenheim Museum Soho. His Sculpture and Paintings were also exhibited Inauguration of Casa del Presidente (UNITEC) for El Museo de Aguadilla y el Caribe Exhibition Winners of Dia del Artista Pintor Puertorriqeño ,he was also awarded an UNESCO Medal in Dec., 2000. and 2nd Prize for Graphics Category in Dec, 2001.
